Day Six Visiting Wineries & Restaurants

Wake up to a breathtaking view of the Andes from your room before joining the group for breakfast at the hotel. Today, you’ll enjoy tastings at several local wineries, capped by an incredible dinner at one of the area’s most notable restaurants.

Your first stop today is Matevinis, one of Mendoza’s more unique wineries. Not only are the winemakers formerly from Achaval-Ferrer, but the entire winery is run on solar power, making this an eco-friendly stop for fine wines and impeccable service. While here, you’ll tour the winery and enjoy tastings of various Argentinian wines.

Next, you’ll discover the sustainable vineyards of Finca Decero, which means “from scratch.†The winery’s hands-on approach to winemaking translates into fine, handcrafted wines you’ll sample during a special lunch featuring the seasonal flavors of Argentina.

After lunch, you’ll return to the Cavas Wine Lodge for a leisurely afternoon. Take a closer look at the vineyards, lounge poolside with your fellow travelers, or treat yourself to a few hours at the spa.

Before dinner, you’ll experience the varietals of another Mendoza winery: CARO. Built from a partnership between the Catena family and Barons de Rothschild, CARO transcends Argentinian and French cultures through its masterful use of each producer’s signature grapes: Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Dinner is just next door at the famous Francis Mallmann 1884 Restaurante, the flagship restaurant of one of the country’s most well-known chefs. Argentinian-style grilled meats are elevated here with a clay oven and wood-fired grill, and the wine pairings make this a dinner to be remembered for years to come.
